One of the best stats in basketball is the triple-double. At least 10 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds (or blocks or steals). It’s just an arbitary number picked because it was even, but it is always a ton of fun to see. There was nothing more exciting than when Russell Westbrook was chasing the triple-double average for the season from a pure box score looking perspective. These are always the mark of a great performance during the season and fun to see.
The betting equivalent of a triple-double is NBA Player Total Points, Rebounds and Assists. This is a total set on the total combined amount of the three numbers for a particular game. While a player doesn’t need to have at least ten in all three, it’s simply a combination of the three numbers, it does offer the same level of excitement as you are pumped for the player doing anything to add to his box score.
This is a fun bet and a way to essentially bet on triple-double type stats. This article will tell you the best places to bet them as well as how to bet them and our strategy for doing so. Let’s get right into it.

What are NBA Player Total Points, Rebounds and Assists Bets?
This is a total of a particular player’s performance for a single game. A number is set with that you can bet over or under on the total number of combined points, rebounds and assists that player will get.
For instance, let’s say LeBron James is playing a game. His Total Points, Rebounds and Assists might be set at 48.5. That means his total point, rebounds and assists need to be at least 49 to go over or no more than 48 to go under.
A stat line of 28 points, 9 assists and 11 rebounds would be under. As would a line of 35 points, 3 assists and 10 rebounds. It doesn’t matter where the bulk comes from, only the total of the three categories added together.
Additionally, there is no “minimum” here so if a player had a total of 49 for points, rebounds, and assists and they finished with 50 points, 0 rebounds, and 0 assists and that would still be considered a win.
Common NBA Player Total Points, Rebounds and Assists Questions:
Should we just call this the LeBron James bet?
Probably!
Here’s a few records that LeBron James owns:
- All-time leader for playoff games with at least 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists with 74.
- All-time leader for playoff games with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists with (37).
- All-time leader for playoff games with at least 40 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists with (18).
- All-time leader for most 30-point triple-doubles in the playoffs (10)
And that’s just the playoffs!
What is the greatest triple-double in NBA history?
There have been a ton of triple-doubles in NBA history and a lot of them have seen some major points being scored. However, there is only one 20-20-20 game in NBA history and that record belongs to Wilt Chamberlain who did it in 1968 when he had a 22 points, 25 rebounds, and 21 assists performance.
There have been 20+ rebound triple-doubles and hundreds of 20+ point triple-doubles, but never a 20-point, 20-rebound, and 20-assist triple-double. A true achievement from one of the most impressive stat guys in NBA history.

NBA Player Total Points, Rebounds and Assists Betting Strategy:
The totals of these types of bets are typically set on a player’s averages and you need to seek out whether they are going to go over or under that total.
A good thing to look at is the match-up. Is this likely to be a blowout? How many times over the years has Stephen Curry sat out the fourth quarter because the game was already over? That’s not the time you want to go over. (Unless it’s like that Klay Thompson 37 points in one quarter game, of course.)
Another thing I like to keep an eye on is injuries. When Stephen Curry is hurt, Kevin Durant’s stats go up. It’s only natural for players to pick up the slack for their teammates when they’re out and this can be a great time for an over.
