Typically when the developers of Fortnite hold a tournament they make sure it can easily be found, but that’s not the case with the Fortnite Secret Skirmish. Managed by Epic Games, it’s a smaller event that’s invitational only, which they used for creating publicity, with 100 teams in total taking part. Now we’ll uncover this tournament, and how you can hope to make your money go even further when betting on it.
Held offline, it’s a LAN event whereby social-media isn’t largely prohibited, making coverage slightly difficult when it comes to the games themselves. With a huge prize-pool on offer as well, the money’s there backing the event, making for some highly contested matches. Featuring a selection of top professional players, the contestants are already known names brought in from previous tournaments. Taking place over the duration of two days, it’s an exclusive event that’s hosted live in Los Angeles by Epic Games.
There’s twelve games in total, so it’s a fairly short-lived event, but it’s the perfect venue to pick up a few quick wagers. Who are the players to watch then, and where should you cast your eye when looking to bet on a game and player?

What is Fortnite Secret Skirmish?
Commencing in February, the Fortnite Secret Skirmish would become a solo tournament that was invitational only. With the event itself being hosted in a hidden venue the whole tournament is shrouded in secrecy, giving it all an air of mystery. Points would also be awarded for eliminations throughout the games, with the winners accumulating them over the course of the competition. Bringing in players from each Open Fortnite tournament prior to that, it would invite the top players, making for an extremely high standard of playing.
Offering prize money currently standing at $500,000, it’s got a lot behind it, with the competition expected to be intense. This is how the event itself was expected to take place over the entire course of its run, although this could change in the future:
- Day One: Six games focusing on Duo matches, with three points awarded to a Victory Royale, two to second and third place, and one to fourth and fifth, then 3 points for 8+ kills, 2 for six to seven, and one for four to five.
- Day Two: Using the same scoring system as the previous day, there’s six solo matches this time round.
- Winners: The top twenty ranked contestants will be awarded prizes accordingly, with tiebreakers using the total number of Victory Royales, and a coin flip if necessary.
Bonuses are also awarded after seven kills, with one point for every extra kill, making for an intense and heated fight to the top. Who will make it then, who will be knocked out early on in the game, and how can you get the most out of your money when placing bets?

Fortnite Secret Skirmish Betting Strategy:
While the event may be more mysterious than many others in the Fortnite eSports scene, it still plays the same. Featuring professionals battling it out for an extremely large prize, you’re going to have to be fairly quick if you want to put down any bets. Pick the players with some history first of all, seeing which players have been projected to win, working backwards from there. Then you want to focus on bets such as ‘Top Three Finish’, as they’ll be your best friends for the duration.
You could include a few wild card bets in there too, but don’t pin too much on these, as they can easily backfire. Once you have a strong selection of carefully placed wagers across the board, you should then be able to enjoy watching a far more exciting and action packed series of games.
