I love betting on golf. Winners, three-ball, top-5, top-10, and even golfers to make the cut.
Making the cut is kind of amazing when you think about it. You have to be good enough for two days to outlast some of the best golfers in the world. A bad round is out of the question which is why I’m not a professional golfer.
I like betting on golfers to make the cut because it’s done early. If there’s one thing I don’t like about betting on golf is that I usually put my money down on Wednesday night and I don’t end up seeing it until Sunday night. With a making the cut bet, you are all settled up after day two of the tournament. If you win, that’s more money to bet on the final two days!
In this article, I am going to tell you a bit more about betting on PGA to Make Cut. I’m going to share my strategy as well as show you how and where to bet on it.

What is a PGA To Make Cut bet?
Betting on PGA to Make Cut is a bet on whether or not a player will be playing on the final two days of the event. A typical PGA events runs four days. Thursday and Friday has a larger pool and then the field is cut down based on performance after the first 36 holes played. This bet that you are making is only for the golfer to make that cut, finishing 65th or better.
It does not pay more based on where they finish. All that matters is that they make the cut.
Additionally, some sportsbooks allow you to bet against someone making the cut. The odds are different, but this is a good bet to be aware of as there are times when it may be profitable for you to bet on it. Injuries or a bad run of putting can make this a good play.
Common PGA To Make Cut Questions:
What is the cut line for a PGA event?
The standard cut line for a PGA event is 65th place after two rounds. Any golfers that have a better score than that position will advance. This does include ties so there may be more than 65 players who move on.
This rule was set in 2018-2019. Prior to that, the rule had been for the top 70 golfers after 36 holes.
What is the record for consecutive cuts made?
The record for consecutive cuts made in PGA tournaments is held by Tiger Woods. He made his first cut on February 5th, 1998 at the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines and made the cut in every event he played for the next seven years with the last being on May 8th,, 2005 at the Wachovia Championship. All in all, Tiger made the cut at 142 consecutive events.
Tiger Woods record would fall after he missed the cut at the 2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. An interesting note about that is that Tiger Woods actually broke the record of 113 consecutive cuts made that was set by Byron Nelson. Outside of those two, Jack Nicklaus is the only other golfer in PGA history to make the cut in over 100 consecutive events.

PGA To Make Cut Betting Strategy:
A great way to use PGA To Make Cut bets is to protect your betting interest.
If you’ve done your research on a particular golfer and think they can win the tournament, by all means bet on them to win the tournament. It will pay great if they do and it’s always a lot of fun when you cash one of those tickets.
Where I use PGA to make the cut bets is in addition to that bet on a winner. Place a few units on a golfer to win the tournament and then put a few more on him to make the cut. The odds won’t be as great, but a win can help offset the potential loss if for some reason that golfer you picked doesn’t win the whole thing.
